ADAS PART 2 TRAINING
Certificate IV in Hyperbaric Operations (SSBA to 30m)
This is the intermediate level of ADAS training and utilises surfaced supplied air systems with the diver breathing gas that is delivered via an umbilical hose system from the surface to the diver. The diver normally wears a rigid helmet or a semi rigid band mask and is allowed to dive to a maximum depth of 30 metres. This type of equipment offers a much higher degree of safety over that of SCUBA. Most on-shore construction diving jobs requires the use of this type of equipment. The ADAS Part 2 qualification is therefore regarded as the minimum necessary for the majority of working divers.
During training there is a requirement to undertake longer duration dives using various construction diving techniques - rigging and moving heavy items, assembling large and heavy structures. There is also a significant component of the training dedicated to the safe use of various powered tools, both hydraulic and air driven. Underwater cutting and welding techniques are also taught. Various emergency rescue techniques are also covered.
The ADAS Part 2 course is delivered over 4 weeks, and can be combined with the ADAS Part 1 course to make a combined course of 8 weeks.
To participate in this course you need to be at least 18 years of age, be able to swim 200m unassisted, have a recreational diving certification (such as PADI), and pass a Commercial Diving Medical. You will also either have to already hold an ADAS Part 1, OR enrol in both courses to be undertaken together. You will also need to have a DAN Oxygen Providers certificate, and a Senior First Aid - both of which can be completed with us during your course.
