Before embarking on a career as a commercial diver (also known as occupational divers) there are many decisions that you need to make. One of the most important is your choice of a suitable training provider. Whether your ultimate goal is employment in the offshore oil and gas industry or not; you will need high quality foundation training in basic diving techniques and associated work practices.

Our special area of expertise is in the delivery of on shore construction diver training. We deliver training to the highest standards, using modern state of the art equipment, giving you those core skills vital for your future career. Such training is the foundation necessary to give you a confident and competent start to your chosen career.

UTCSA - Commercial diver training at its best!

When embarking on a career as a commercial diver, it is very important that you choose to train with an accredited facility that has, as its core philosophy, the goal of producing commercial divers that are trained to the highest achievable standards. UTCSA is, of course, a commercial business that needs to be profitable but, not at the expense of the quality of training that we deliver. Much of the profit that we generate is reinvested in the School ensuring that you, the student, have state of the art modern facilities and a high quality learning environment.

Commercial diver training in Australia is controlled and regulated by the Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS). ADAS operates as a not for profit organization working under a memorandum of understanding from the Commonwealth of Australia.

UTCSA is accredited to deliver commercial diver training to all levels with the exception of saturation diver training (ADAS Part 4).

We are currently the only ADAS School that is also accredited to offer ADAS ROV pilot training.

Why should you choose UTCSA as your commercial diver training provider?

  • We are a small organization that is committed to producing high quality commercial divers.
  • Some of our courses have training subsidies in place which makes those courses extremely cost effective. (Conditions apply).
  • Unlike most of our competitors, we do not run large course intakes. We strictly limit the numbers of students on our courses to a maximum of 12. This allows us to run two teams of up to six divers which is the ideal number for training. This policy ensures that the nominal duration of the training day does not exceed acceptable levels.

(Student numbers in excess of 12 always result in very long working days in order for all participating students to achieve the required dive times. We guarantee that when you enrol for a course of training with UTCSA you will not turn up on the first day to find that your course consists of very large numbers which inevitably result in crowded dive sites, hectic training schedules and extended daily attendance requirements).

  • Our main training location is located 2 minutes travel time from the school.
  • Our training location is not weather dependant and there is no lost time due to adverse weather conditions.
  • No daily packing and unpacking of trucks or wasted travel time getting to and from the site. This maximizes your training time.
  • We have a totally private, dedicated training location which we believe cannot be matched by any other facility. Once the necessary equipment is assembled on site it remains there for the duration of the course.
  • Dedicated diving barge with modern state of the art facilities that is utilised for all levels of training.
  • We have excellent modern equipment that is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Our excellent safety record in training is the envy of our competitors. (The school has been awarded the South Australian Governments highest award for excellence in Occupational Health and Safety).

We invite you to check out our photo gallery on this web site and see for yourself the quality of the facilities that we offer - please feel free to compare our facilities to that which is offered by other training providers.
