There is an ongoing shortage of divers in this sector. South Australia has a very large aquaculture sector which is always recruiting. This sector can be very useful to the newly qualified diver as employment is almost guaranteed with reasonable pay rates. ($50,000-$60,000 AUD).

Such employment opportunities are the ideal way for the newly qualified diver, in the short term, to enhance their finances and gain some dive time in the period immediately following their course of training.  

However be warned this type of experience is not highly regarded if you wish to move offshore-you must have onshore construction diving time in your logbook. Aquaculture is however, a good short term stop gap for 3-6 months as you start along your chosen career path
